From the Pastor

Friday, July 20, 2012
Have you ever talked with someone and you could just tell that they weren’t even paying attention? This scenario repeats itself regularly between parents and children, spouses, and bosses and employees. It also happens when God is trying to talk to us! This is why God tells us several times in the Bible to essentially “listen up!” He uses sentences like, “He that hath an ear, let him hear…” (found seven times in the Book of Revelation). Several times in the New Testament, the Lord records these words: “He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.”

Here’s a question for you: “What has the Lord told you recently through His Word and Spirit?” Are you listening, or is He still trying to get your attention? (By the way, He uses various methods to try to get our attention!) I’m looking forward to our services on Sunday when the Lord plans to share His truth with our church body. A friend of our church, Dr. Charles Shoemaker, will be here to preach during the morning and evening services. Plan now to let God speak to you through him as His Word is preached! Invite others to come with you, too.

Should the Lord tarry His coming, I look forward to seeing you on Sunday!

In Him,

Pastor Dennis M. Schaffer

Hi! I read Brother Dennis' message, and it made a lot of sense and got me to think where I need to help and minister--women and victims of violence. I know of people that need help and are in abusive situations. (edited) Reply
