Hurricane Updates

This posting will serve as an update area to keep those in our congregation and ministry patrons updated about Hurricane Isaac that is forecast to affect our area.

Southland Christian Academy and the Child Development Center will be closed through Friday and will reopen on Tuesday, September 4 (Monday is Labor Day).

On Friday, 8/31, volunteers are encouraged to come at 8:30 A.M. and help us prepare our campus to open again (jobs are primarily picking up debris and removing sandbags). After we are done at the church campus, if there are needs we know of, we will go out and help.

Church members are encouraged to continue to be in contact with each other via visits, phone, texts, website posts, and social media as you are able. Needs requiring emergency help should first call 911. In the event help is needed where emergency response is not possible, or if the situation requires help of a non-emergency nature, please contact a staff member or deacon. Should phone communications not work, sending texts may still go through (sometimes after a while of trying). Updating your status on this page by posting a comment is another communications outlet to attempt.

Our church Facebook page is www.facebook.com/opendooronline.

We have had our share of tests lately. With Gods help we will survive... to bless again in the name of Jesus.

Thanks for the prayers. I'm praying for everyone too. So far nothing major is going on out here.
