What’s New?

There's some new things going on at Open Door, and I am glad for you to be a part of them!

For many, this week marks the beginning of school, and we have many students and teachers who are a part of our church family. Amy Lobo, our childcare center's director, and Dr. Vicky Creasy, our school's new principal, are preparing for the first days of classes! Please join me in praying for all of these folks as they transition into their new schedules and classrooms.

Tomorrow evening, Wednesday, August 6, we'll be back to a new slate of midweek Bible studies. WOW! Wednesdays went great over the summer, and we appreciate all who came and studied the Seven Churches of Revelation, participated in activities, and fellowshipped together. We're so excited that we're alreadylooking ahead to next summer, but, until then, I hope you'll plan to come and engage in meaningful Bible studies for our various age groups at 7pm. Young students will have a great time at Olympians in the Gym/FLEC building. Middle and high schoolers will meet upstairs in the Teen Room with Pastor Ryan. Adults will group in the sanctuary to seek Godly ways to fill our emptiness as we study "How to Have a FULL Life" according to God's Word.

We are preparing for an awesome new Fall season, and we want you to be a part of it! One of the best ways to help it be blessed is to pray. Please keep our church family in your prayers each day as we all share Christ.

• Open Door Christian Academy starts classes, Thursday, August 7
• Ladies' Bible Studies (Continuing on Sunday nights)
• Back-at-It Sunday, August 17 (Let's be faithful to worship this fall!)
• Mental Health Weekend with Harley Snode, Saturday and Sunday, September 6-7
• Men's Leadership Retreat at Lion King Retreat Center, Friday and Saturday, October 10-11
