What’s the Strongest Evil Stronghold in our Community?

As we celebrate Labor Day this weekend, I hope you'll be a part of our service and celebrate the completed work Christ did on the cross to provide for our salvation!

As I have been preparing for tomorrow morning's service (10:30), I came to realize that one of Satan's strongest strongholds, powerful in Jesus' day, is deeply entrenched in our modern local culture. We'll let God's Word expose it when we meet and continue our look at the story of "The Prodigal Son" in Luke 15. I am so encouraged to see Jesus' invitation to sinners to find forgiveness and salvation! My prayer is that you know Him personally and are walking with Him.

Tomorrow, we will jump right into heart of the older other son in the story. This second son is actually the main focus of the parable. Jesus is careful to show that on the outside the older son looks great! He hasn't done any of the evil things the younger son did. However, the older son has a heart that is, perhaps, more evil than his brother's.

What makes the older son's evil heart so tricky is that he has a blind spot. He can't see that he has created the form of a false religion that makes him feel like he is "very good with God," while he is very far from God. This is very dangerous. My hope is to shed light on this blind spot (and the stronghold) and to help folks find a real, lasting relationship with Christ.

I look forward to worshipping Christ together tomorrow at 10:30 A.M. Please pray for the service.

Blessings,
