There's power in every choice.
When things are in short supply, we are often more careful because they seem more valuable.
It's not often that we see families dedicate their children to Christ, and in a secular world, it is especially encouraging to see a new believer follow the Lord in public baptism. We will have the joy of celebrating both tomorrow!
But life is full of decisions. Opportunities and options come at us in abundance. There seems to be a never-ending supply, and our modern world has opened a floodgate of possibilities.
When we consider any one decision, it can seem insignificant compared to the countless others we know are waiting behind it. Yet when we devalue the choice before us, it becomes easier to choose unwisely.
Joshua recognized this in his day. He called the Israelites together from their homes to a place where God had met with them before.
This Sunday morning, following Joshua's example, I invite our church family and friends to gather and consider the power of our choices so that we may choose wisely before God according to gospel principles.
Why should we come when there are other interests competing for our attention and commitments already filling our schedule?
Because our choices matter.
They matter for us.
They matter for future generations.
And because they matter to God, I pray they matter to you as well.
I look forward to worshiping together tomorrow morning at 10:30. Let's begin the day well by gathering for Sunday School at 9:30.
Blessings,
