A Better Way for Life and Finances

If God was empowering your finances, would that change things for you?

January is "stewardship month" at Open Door, and we are looking at every area of live, including our finances.

I know, I know. Finances is a sore subject with many people. Most of us do not feel that we have enough money, and we often feel like giving either leaves us with too little left or is impossible to do.

Is there a better way? What if God really was the power and source for not just your finances but for all of your life? I think you and I would agree that it would be really nice!

OK, to help out, that is what we are going to look at tomorrow morning at 10:30am during our worship service. We are seeing that when we are actually in AWE of God, then things start falling into their proper places, and we have a partnership with God where He is involved and pulls much more of the weight than we do.

Part of the problem of life is trying to keep each thing in its rightful and proper spot. When God is first, everything else is easier to fit into place.

We'll see how to do better with life and financial areas from the Bible. The principles will take some work and surrender on your part, but at least you'll see how it works, and how God will work through things. And then it will be your choice about how to respond.

If you're wanting more than magical and just good intentions, and you're ready for miracles to happen on a regular basis, then live by faith and follow God's Word!

I have been excited to share this for a while, and tomorrow is the day! Bring your Bible and be ready to jot down some ideas.

At the end, I will give you an opportunity to take a challenge. Not anything weird, but a challenge to let God empower your finances as you find financial (and life) success through Bible faith-step principles that turn into life habits.

If are ready to take that challenge now, or you are ready to come back to this message after the Sunday morning service, sign up below (or use the Church by MinistryOne phone app where you can also give, see a calendar, watch services, and register for upcoming events).

Last, and very important, as we run through January, I am excited to introduce you to a couple of friends of ours. Sunday night at 6:00, 1/14, we are dedicating Steven Bowling and Matt Howington to be deacons, and Bro. Sam Thomas will be with us (our church supports his work) to stir our faith. Also, next Sunday morning, 1/21, Bro. John Gibson with the International Board of Jewish Missions will be preaching. He serves in New York City, the second-largest population of Jewish people in the world. Both of these speakers (and their families) will be a blessing to you, and their lives of service and sacrifice for Christ will also challenge your own faith.

I am praying and rooting for you! Please reply to let me know how God is working in your life or of prayer needs you know of.

Blessings,
Pastor Dennis Schaffer
