Are You Committed?

Are you committed?

I have enjoyed our January focus on stewardship, and I pray that you have grown and are ready to take the next step. (Note: For a review of the services, watch anytime online [opendooronline.com].)

Dr. Charles Shoemaker will wrap up our stewardship emphasis by encouraging us to take a step of commitment on January 31.

Why? The world is running away from God. The health of churches across America is anemic. People who were faithful two years ago to the average church, 50% have walked out and haven't looked back. We're staring down the barrel of the Devil's loaded gun, and God is looking for His children to step up and shine His Word's Gospel light. Will you be found faithful and committed to Christ and each other, so we can bring more people to Him, or will we put off commitment and forget the life-changing power of the Gospel? (If you have not responded to the Gospel to be saved, begin this "at-your-own-pace Bible study called "Starting Point" today here!)

God has been trying to get our attention. With Covid and other things, He's saying, "Open Door." He's saying your name! Let's listen, and let's take that step to commit. By the way, stewardship is not just about money. Stewardship is about managing all the stuff of life for God's glory--money is just a part.

Stewardship Service schedule for Sunday, January 31, 2021 with Dr. Charles Shoemaker: 9:30am, combined Sunday school (teens to adults); 10:30am, worship service; 6:00pm, commitment-making service. (Services will be also be available via our Facebook, Youtube, and Vimeo channels).

You can get involved by making your stewardship commitment online here or by submitting a commitment card at a service. (The form is also available via our Church by MinistryOne iPhone/Android app here.)

I look forward to a blessed day of worship and commitment tomorrow. Really, I am excited about the prospects of what the Lord will do in our future together with those commitments! Imagine a whole church moving together as one--that's like, wow! I hope that is what you see, too, when you take that step.

In Christ,
Pastor Dennis Schaffer
