We often toss words around, and sometimes when we put them juxtapose, they help us form new thoughts and delve into ancient truths.
Here are two words: Christmas and Eve.
You've used these words to describe the day before Christmas, but when we isolate Eve from Christmas we can remember there's another Eve. Does she have a connection with Christmas?
Eve is recorded as being the first mother in the Book of Genesis. She lived so long ago. How could she relate to the story of Christmas?
I started asking that question, and it will shape the Christmas perspective we'll look at during the Sunday morning service. There are more connections than you can imagine, and there are some very powerful truths that tie Eve with Christmas. Hence, the title of the sermon is "Christmas Eve."
This is a special time of year, and I pray you enjoy it and see God's blessing of salvation with every Christmas carol and light.
Tomorrow evening at 6:00, invite friends and family to come with you to a musical and skit presentation of "Light of the World." I enjoyed listening to the choir rehearse this week--you'll be blessed, too! Let God open your heart to see the Savior Who came to save us from our sin.
Thank you for reading this short note. Reach back out to me if you have a blessing, prayer request, or spiritual need.
Have a merry Christmas,
Pastor Dennis Schaffer
