Many of the world's greatest truths hide in plain sight. One of those obvious truths is that faith begets faithfulness.
During the Sunday morning 10:30 service, we are tackling the transformation process shown in 2 Corinthians that God does in our lives to mature us and make us more like Him.
Have you wrestled against God's work to mature you? If you answered, Yes, I am in your group.
To us, transformation is a mixed bag of good things and bad things. To God, He is working everything together for good for His children (Romans 8:28-29).
Can we trust God? Overwhelmingly, we know we can. Yet there are days we feel like life has tackled us, and we are down for the count under a seven-ton elephant.
What gives? The answer is faith. When we learn to outweigh the good and bad experiences of life (by the way, the good things in life are often more distracting to our walk with God than the bad ones) and still trust God, that's called faithfulness.
Let's get back up on our feet, and re-start conquering life with God's help as we prepare for life in Heaven! Isaiah 40:31 and Hebrews 11 are great reads on this topic.
We have been very blessed! I look forward to worshipping the Lord tomorrow morning with you and our Open Door guests and families.
In Christ,
Pastor Dennis Schaffer
P.S. We have several exciting things coming up. Next Sunday evening, 10/31, we will have a free, drive-thru Trunk-or-Treat event. There's still time to sign up! Also, we are receiving a special offering to be a blessing to about 30 missionaries during Thanksgiving. Give online, and then join us for a special Thanksgiving praise service we're calling "A World of Thanks" to celebrate God's work near and far. God has been good to us, and you'll see how and want to celebrate, too!
