God’s smile for His children

As I write this, we just arrived home from visiting our son and daughter-in-law, Charlie and Skyler, at the hospital. Yesterday, God brought their new son, Silas, out into our world, and we rejoice with them! He's a handsome little man. Mom, dad, sister, and baby are all doing well, and we pray they can come home soon.

Anyone close to me knows that family is important, and our grandchildren are a special delight. I believe one of the reasons why parents and adults "ooh" and "ahh" over children is because the Heavenly Father has a soft spot in His heart for His children (of all ages). He smiles when we learn new things and express our hearts in joy. And since we have been created by Him in His image (to be like Him), we reflect that soft spot in our lives, too.

As you prepare to worship the Lord tomorrow, know that there is a mutual delight. Come lift up His name with joy knowing He is there, joyfully inhabiting the praises of His children with a smile.
