The longer I serve Christ, the more I learn that I have so much to learn and to do. I am so grateful that God saved my soul, but if God is going to perfect me before I go to Heaven, I am going to be here a while!
Thankfully, God in His wisdom matures us each day according to His will. I am encouraged to see our church family embarking into new territory as we become a truly multi-generational church.
Maturity means change, and God shows us in His Word what that change looks like. Sunday mornings at 10:30, we are exploring 2 Corinthians in our "Transformed" sermon series to see what change looks like specifically, so we can apply those lessons to our own church family and individual lives.
This Sunday, we are extra privileged to celebrate Open Door's 53rd anniversary, and we invite you to our "Old Fashioned Homecoming." Open Door was the new name of Denham Road when our church made the leap of faith to Denham Springs twenty years ago, and God has blessed!
There is always a tether with the past, but God moves us ahead by faith and the liberty we have in Christ. We will see how God is doing that as we meet Sunday morning.
Following the 10:30am service, we will have food and (weather permitting) games.
Have a blessed weekend!
In Christ,
Pastor Dennis Schaffer
