Is Civil, Beneficial Conversation Possible?

You can tell we are in an election cycle, and you either love it or loathe it!

While it is common for political opponents to spar verbally, it seems that we are finding it more difficult to have conversations about important topics without them erupting into flames. This is becoming the norm in the public and private spheres of life.

In a culture of inflamed noise, there is a way to better communication.

Sunday morning at 10:30, we’re going to see a situation in Acts 15 that could have blown the early church apart, but it didn’t. Why? The churches were committed to their risen Savior and Scriptural principles that were superior to the problems they faced. In short, they were able to talk about it, to it, and through it.

Each week, we’re asking, “What happens when the eternal flame of God’s Spirit burns in a new temple family (the church)?” We are empowered today knowing what happened in the Book of Acts as believers lived out their awe of Jesus and His resurrection.

How do you respond when conversations kick up the heat?

We all have different views on life, and those differences can lead to misunderstandings, clashes, and competitions.

Let’s do better than what we see going on in the world. Let’s have more conversations that matter and make a positive difference without selling the truth short.

I look forward to worshiping Jesus and continuing this conversation with you Sunday at 10:30am!

Blessings,
Dennis Schaffer, Pastor
