It Has Been a Great Summer!

It has been a great summer! We have seen new faces, made new friends, and enjoyed serving and ministering with our great teams at Open Door!

Everything that we do a little differently in the summer, like Wednesay WOW! services, activities, and all the camps (day, teen, and music), have been well-attended and a great opportunity to see young and old learn life-building truths from the Bible.

A big shout-out to those who prayed, served, and gave to make our summer events go so great--thank you!

The most awesome thing is that we have seen many learn what it means to know Christ and walk with Him through God's gift of salvation. Several have already taken the step to declare their new faith in Christ and to be baptized.

For many in our community, next week will mean transitioning back into school. And we pray that everyone will ease back into new schedules and fuller roadways safely and with the joy of the Lord!

I hope you can be with us tomorrow at our 10:30am Sunday service. We will pray for teachers, students, and families going to school, homeschool, and college this year. The sermon will help us learn to look through our problems like Joseph did to discover an unshakeable faith.

We anticipate continued and new opportunities to serve you and our community as the fall approaches, so I hope you will check out our Sunday services (regularly 9:30am Sunday school and 10:30am celebration service) and Wednesday Bible studies (7pm) for you and others to connect and grow.

Wednesday night at 7:00 this week marks the return of Olympians for kids, Core for teens, and a new Bible study for adults. Preschool care will be available for adults attending the Bible study and those serving with the children and teens. Check-in for preschool to teens is available at 6:45pm. Invite others to come with you. It'll be fun!

If you have one more moment, please read on for a short word.

We regularly take steps to improve how we serve others, and we'll be rolling out some new ways in coming weeks and months ahead. Meanwhile, if you have a suggestion or way we can better serve you or others, please reply or comment via a Connecting Card to let us know.

One improvement you should start noticing is a small but important tweak in our focus that says, "We are recipients of God's grace serving recipients of God's grace." We'll be unpacking and adopting this across our ministries.

I appreciate you--Thank you for connecting and being a part of what God is doing. It's been a great summer, and I am looking ahead to the things the Lord will do as we follow Him!

As always, if I can be a help to you, please reach back to me.

In Christ,
