Thank you for reading. This is a very special weekend ahead as we take a look back at the world's most significant events. Nothing compares. Nothing.
Like people 2,000 years ago, it's hard for us to comprehend the full depth and gravity of what happened in Jerusalem when Jesus surrendered Himself to the cruelty of the cross to bear our sins. His body was broken open, and His blood became the flow that gives us the gift and opportunity of salvation. This is the first miracle--that God would love us so much He was willing to die for us! (See John 3:16.)
The second miracle happened because Jesus did not stay dead. Three days later, Christ took His physical life back to Himself, and He walked out of the grave to show Himself to others. 40 days later, He ascended back to Heaven, and He sent the Holy Spirit to be with us until He returns.
We're going to remember these miraculous, world-changing events. Friday, April 18, at 7pm, we'll get a snapshot of Jesus' death on the cross and see Him laid in the tomb. Easter Sunday morning, April 20, at 10:30am (after Sunday school at 9:30am), we'll see what all the hype about Easter is and why it is so significant. Spoiler alert, as mentioned already, He rose again from the dead! That doesn't just happen.
I hope these will be a meaningful and moving set of services for you. Please freely invite others to come with you.
Blessings,
Pastor Dennis Schaffer
