Worship Is Vital

Here's an understood statement for Christians: worship is vital.

Statistically, for Americans who call themselves Christians, participation in their churches' worship services and their own personal worship is at a terrible low.

Of course, Satan and the world like it when Christians absence themselves from worship because they know worship is vital to all of our spiritual, moral, mental, physical, financial, relational, (insert other areas here) health! When our pulse and breath recognizes God, it cannot not change things for God's glory.

This fall, we are asking God to help us grow in maturity. Before Hurricane Ida, we looked at "kissing childhood good-bye." We need to want to grow in our relationship with God and others.

(For encouragement after Ida, last Sunday we gained perspective from Paul's example about "Riding Out Life's Storms.")

Before we explore maturity from the Book of 2 Corinthians, tomorrow we are going to hold the horses and make sure worship of God is our primary focus. Healthy maturity cannot happen without the worship of our Savior and King.

At Open Door, we like to say, "It's all about Him." And it should be! Everything, nothing excluded, should be available and offered to God. We are living expressions of worship--it's what we are created to be (not just do).

I invite you to gather in-person and online with us Sunday at 10:30am to truly worship God. It's not just an exercise or something we do to check off our list. It's not just an experience or feeling. It's a meaningful, personal encounter with God that changes everything.

We need God at every turn and straightaway in life. Worship is vital.

Have a blessed day! Share this invite with others, and let's worship God together.

As we recover from Ida, let's let the Lord do remarkable things through His grace as we worship Him!

In Christ,
