"A Bible that's falling apart usually belongs to someone who isn't." (Charles Spurgeon)
I am going to make a statement that I hope you will consider. The proper foundation of any government, church, and home is the Bible. I am not saying all choose to make the Bible their foundation, but any who do will have the right foundation.
We know what happens when we choose the wrong foundation--the structure built on it will collapse revealing its faults. (See Matthew 7:24-27.)
Coronavirus and other storms are revealing the wrong foundations upon which many have chosen to build their lives. I believe people like you and me have an opportunity to put things back on the right foundation.
Like moving, it's not an easy process, but it is a rewarding one that is full of promise. We need to decide upon which foundation we want to build our lives: a failing one or a sure one.
My prayer is that you will take a look at the Bible with us tomorrow morning. God's Word is powerful. Let's repent of where we have turned to human-, self-, and "Google-" wisdom, and return to the Bible.
Please pray with me for revival. Revival never occurs apart from a return to hearing and trusting God's Word.
I am looking forward to gathering together at the church house and online with all who can. Our Sunday service times are 9am and 10:30am. We will continue our prayer time at 6pm. Next Sunday, we will observe communion. We believe it is an important Scriptural practice that reminds us of Christ's blood sacrifice on the cross and draws us to a closer relationship with Him and our church family. We will, however, do things differently.
Check out the information for our current series of sermons and studies, and share them with others: Sunday, "3Bs" [online | Facebook]; Wednesday, "Stretch" [online | Facebook].
As always, please reach back to me if there's a spiritual need you have.
In Christ,
Pastor Dennis M. Schaffer
