I love the Apostle Paul and how he wrote Ephesians 6:10-20. He basically says, "Here is a proven way to stand in the battles of life. If you do this, you'll succeed every time." It is kind of like being bulletproof.
It sounds too good to be true because we have all tried other ways to succeed, and they have not worked. Unfortunately, our experiences at failing often keep us from enjoying the victories God wants us to know every day!
Five years ago, we focused on spiritual warfare at Open Door. It is time for a refresher.
It is reasonable to expect that with all of the blessings and miracles God has brought our way, Satan and the world are going to fight--hard. We need to be ready each moment because Satan is sly like a fox, and he wants to sift us like wheat and devour us like a lion. Evil hates the loving truth of the Gospel rescuing people into God's kingdom and family.
You may already be noticing the attacks. It has not been a silent battlefield. Attacks come in various forms trying to throw us off balance, wound us, and make us fall, and we cannot always see where the attacks are coming from at first.
Welcome to spiritual warfare!
Prayerfully, for the next few Sundays at 10:30am, we will prepare for battle by armoring up. God's armor is special and promises to protect us, but only if we are wearing all of its pieces.
This weekend, we will determine from where our strength comes to aid us in standing in tough battles.
Visit the "Bulletproof" page for a video clip and more information. If what we do is a blessing and help to you, please share this with others, so they can stand with you in the battle!
As always, if I can pray for you and a particular battle you are experiencing, please let me know.
In Christ,
Pastor Dennis
